A walk on the beach with your dog is a wonderful experience, and dogs are very welcome in Zandvoort! They can play to their heart's content, run through the sand and even swim in the sea. However, there are a few simple rules to ensure that everyone - humans and animals alike - can enjoy the beach to the full:

From 1 October to 15 April

dogs are allowed to run free on the beach all day long. They do not have to be on a lead as long as they are well behaved. Would you like to treat yourself to a cup of coffee or hot chocolate in one of the year-round beach pavilions? No problem, your faithful four-legged friend can come along (on a lead) and there is even a bowl of water available!

From 15 April to 1 October

dogs are not allowed on the beach between 09:00 and 19:00. However, they are still welcome outside these times. Would you like to take your dog for a walk during the day? Then you can visit the beach behind Parnassia in Bloemendaal aan Zee.

It is important to keep the beach clean: Don't forget to clean up after your dog and always carry cleaning utensils with you. In the built-up area of Zandvoort, dogs must be kept on a lead all year round.

Free-range areas 

In addition to the beach, there are some wonderful free-range areas where your dog can run free, for example:

The dune area between Kennemerweg and Herman Heijermansweg
The dunes east of the Boogkanaal
And various other green spots around Zandvoort and Bentveld
